Funny, cute, spooky…these candy melt dipped pretzels are super delicious. I love making Halloween treat and so do my son. Every year he wants to do some Halloween treat project. These treats are super easy to make and can be a perfect kids-friendly Halloween project. My son loved making these sweet & salty treats. He is super excited to share these with his friends on Halloween day.

Fir this season, I have made whole bunch of varieties for my  Char-Boo-terie Board.  Loved making these chocolate pretzels twist, dipped in candy melts, decorated with sprinkles, candy eyes, mini M&M’s, marshmallows etc. But the best part about the recipe is that you can make these with just 3  basic ingredients- pretzels, candy melts and sprinkles. You can use same ides with pretzels sticks. I did few with leftover candy melts.

Candy melts works best to make this festive treats. They comes in varieties of colors and can be used as per festive season. If you don’t find candy melts, use white baking chocolate and edible color to make these colorful treat. You can make them in advance and store for about a week.

Do give this recipe a try to celebrate the season. These Salty-sweet treats are spooky delicious. Easy and quick recipe for Halloween parties, trick & treating or enjoy simply during movie nights. These are just few, brainstorm some ideas and  you can make own variations too. Whatever you make, these crunchy, salty and sweet treat are simply yum.  Happy Halloween!

Step by Step Instructions with Photos

  1. Line baking tray with parchment paper/wax paper or use silicon baking mat.
  2. The process of melting chocolate is same for all varieties of halloween treats.
    • For Candy Melts- Place the candy melts into a microwave safe bowl with ½ Tsp. of coconut oil and heat for 30 seconds. Stir the chocolate, from outside toward the center. Heat again for 30 seconds and repeat the process. Continue doing until 90% of chocolate is melted. Give it a good whisk, the heat in the bowl will help melt the chocolate 100%. Add more ½ Tsp coconut oil if melted chocolate looks thick
    • For Baking Chocolate- Place the chopped chocolate into a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds. Stir the chocolate, from outside toward the center. Heat again for 15 seconds and stir again. Repeat this process of heating and stirring, until the chocolate is almost melted. but not fully melted. Do not heat chocolate for longer than 15 seconds and never going above 90F. For me it took 1 minute in total.
