Leftover or fresh, this recipe with Khaman Dhoklas taste equally good as traditional one, made with chana daal. You can whip this recipe just in 15-20 minutes if you have Khaman Dhoklas ready. Sev Khamani or Amiri Khaman is a classic Gujarati snack dish from India. This mouth melting sweet and spicy is super easy and you can whip this recipe just in 15-20 minutes if you have Khaman-dhokla ready. Do not skip garnishing this Khamani with grated coconut, pomegranates and sev. Every ingredient all together give you a perfect taste and crunch in your mouth.
To begin making Sev Khamani/Amiri Khaman, you will instant Khaman Dhokla.
In a bowl crumble pre-cooked instant Khaman Dhokla pieces into coarse crumbs using your fingers or grater.
Next heat oil in pan wide pan, add mustard seeds, sesame seeds and let them splutter. Once seeds start to splutter add chopped green chili, curry patta and Hing. Sauté for a minute or until green chilies are slightly soft.
Now add 1 cup of water along with sugar, lemon juice and salt to taste. Let it boil for 1 minute. Be careful about adding salt as Khaman Dhokla will already have some salt in them.
Now switch off the flame and let the mixture cool down a bit. Stir in crumbled Khaman Dhokla and mix gently.
Add grated coconut and give it a mix. Save some coconut for garnishing.
Add half of the chopped coriander and give a gentle mix.
Transfer the Khamani in serving plates. Add remaining grated coconut and chopped coriander,.
Finally garnish with pomegranate and nylon sev.
Sev Khamani/Amiri Khaman is ready to serve, serve fresh along with tea or coffee.
