Homemade Pizza Dough From The Scratch

Description

Gobi Manchurian is a very popular cauliflower based Indo-Chinese appetizer recipe in India. To make this recipe Gobi florets are dipped in corn flour based spiced batter and fried. And then are served with sautéed chopped onion, capsicum, ginger-garlic, tomato, soy and chili sauce based dry gravy.

Ingredients
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ Tsp. Instant yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar
  • ½ Tsp. Salt
  • 2 Tbsp. + ½ Tsp. Olive oil
  • 1 cup Warm water
Instructions
  1. Take a big mixing bowl or a stand mixer with dough hook attached, and add all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, salt and 2 Tbsp. olive oil. Give it a mix.

  2. I am using here stand mixer, add water and mix everything on low speed until the dough comes together. If using mixing bowl, you can knead the dough by hands.

  3. Now increase the speed to medium and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.

  4. The dough should be sticky consistency and should just look like shown in picture below. 

  5. Once you get that consistency stop the mixture, no need to knead too much.

  6. Grease a large bowl with 1/4 tsp oil and keep ready. With a scrapper or spatula gather the dough and transfer the dough to the lightly oiled large bowl. The bowl should be big enough as dough will rise more than double in size. Apply remaining oil to dough ball. Cover the bowl with a damp kitchen cloth or plastic wrap, and keep the covered dough in warm until it rises doubled in size or about 1 hour.

  7. Once the dough is double in size, punch it down.

  8. Gather the dough and place on a lightly floured surface and gently knead into smooth, firm ball.

  9. If you are planning to use the dough right way, cut the ball into two halves, make balls tucking the dough from below. Now cover the dough balls with damp cloth and let it rest for more 15-20 minutes. The dough will rise a bit.

  10. At this point, I also recommend preheating your oven to 450F so that its already preheated once your pizza is ready to bake.

  11. Pizza dough is ready to use. Using your hands or rolling pin, roll the dough to the desired shape and proceed further with your pizza recipe.
