Description

Serradura also known as sawdust pudding or Macau pudding, is a very famous Portuguese dessert. This simple and easy pudding made with less than 5 ingredients is nothing more than a layered treat made with sweetened whipped cream and a light vanilla flavored crumbled biscuit.

Ingredients
    Sugar Streusel
  • 2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 tin/14 ounce Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 7 ounces Marie biscuits
  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla extract
  • Choice of fruits (for garnishing)
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnishing)
Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl or stand mixer bowl pour heavy whipping cream. Using whisk attachment or hand mixer whip the cream until medium-soft peaks starts to form.

  2. To the cream add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. Continue  to whip until you get stiff peaks. Do not over whip or cream will turn into sweet butter. Cream layer is ready. Keep refrigerated until further use.

  3. Now in a food processor or in a grinder jar add Marie biscuits. Pulse/Grind until they are crushed to fine crumbs. If you don’t have food processor or mixer-grinder, you can crush biscuits by putting then in a plastic ziplock and crushing them with rolling pin.

  4. Now to make layering easy, add the whipping cream mix in icing bag or resealable plastic bag. If using resealable bag cut off one of the bottom corner for easy spreading. For icing bag you can use round tip or just snip icing bag from bottom to let cream flow.

  5. Finally will start layering. For best result try to start and end with whipping cream layer. Number of layers depend on glass size. You can use, wine glass, mason jar, pudding bowl or single serving dish too.

  6. Start layering with whipping cream, then biscuit crumb layer and repeat. End the layer with whipping cream but again sprinkle a light layer of biscuit crumb as garnish.

  7. Cover the pudding glasses or dish with cling wrap and refrigerate for 3-4 hours or overnight to allow the cookies to soften. Mine were gone immediately as they were made by kids as fun food project 🙂

  8. Once pudding is set, remove 15-20 from fridge before serving. Garnish with choice of  crushed nuts like almonds, cashews etc or sprinkle cinnamon powder. I have simply added berries and fresh mint leaves.

  9. Super easy and delicious Serradura pudding is ready to serve. Enjoy chilled with you friends and family.
