A very simple, easy yet refreshing lemonade recipe made with very common ingredients from your pantry.
In a saucepan add the chunked strawberries, 1/2 cup sugar and ½ cup of water.
Give it a boil until strawberries are soft. Grind with immersion blender or strain through wide single mesh strainer. Let it cool to room temperature.
Lemon syrup: In a saucepan add the lemon zest, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan, stirring, until the sugar dissolves; let cool to room temperature.
Make the lemonade: Combine the prepared strawberry syrup, lemon syrup, lemon juice and 2 cups cold water in a pitcher. For each drink fill the serving glass with ice, then top with the lemonade. Served chilled.
Adjust the amount of water and lemon juice as per your taste preference.
Store both the syrup refrigerated for couple of days. Mix cold water, lemon juice before serving and serve with ice and seltzer water or club soda.
