Description

This Salsa Verde made with fresh ingredients is very delicious, juicy and irresistible. A very easy recipe to make, taste really good that you are not going back to get salty store-bought ones.

Ingredients (Servings - 1 cup)
  • 6 medium Tomatillos (husked and rinsed)
  • 2 Jalapeños
  • ¼ cup Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic with skin
  • Lemon/lime juice (to taste)
  • ¼ cups Fresh cilantro leaves
  • Salt to taste
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven on broiler mode and adjust the rack on top shelf.

  2. Remove husks from tomatillo and rinse well.

  3. Place the tomatillos, jalapeños, garlic with skin on a foil lined baking sheet. Broil everything until they are blackened in spots for 5 minutes. You can wrap garlic in foil and broil.

  4. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and carefully flip tomatillos and jalapeños upside down. Garlic will be done by this time.

  5. Broil again for 5 minutes, until everything gets brown spot and blistered.

  6. Remove the tray from the oven and let them cool down.

  7. In a food processor or blender, dump in broiled tomatillo, jalapeños, garlic, onion, fresh cilantro and pulse until everything are finely crushed and mixed. Add lime juice as required and season with salt.

  8. Cool in refrigerator. Serve chilled Tomatillo Salsa Verde with your favorite Mexican dish or with chips.
