Basic Shrikhand has flavor of saffron and fragrance of cardamom but add your choice of fruits like mango, strawberry to make your own variation.
Step by Step Instructions with Photos
- Tie the yogurt in a piece of muslin and hang it overnight over a bowl, in a refrigerator, to drain the whey. See Recipe Notes for detail recipe.
- Soak the saffron in warm milk and keep aside.
- Transfer the hung curd into a bowl and add sugar the cardamom powder; whip till smooth.
- Add soaked saffron, and mix well.
- Add food color if using and chill in the refrigerator.
- Garnish with the almonds and pistachios and serve chilled.
